Today we flew to Liberia. My flight to LA seemed very short because I learned from my friend, Stephanie Simmonds, how to upload Netflix shows to my iPad. What a treat. Watching episodes of “Grace and Frankie” made the time go by really fast.
Our f light to from LA to Liberia was delayed by 1 hour. Susan and I met up with Lee, Barbara, and Janice in the airport in LA. Since we had extra time, we bought food for the flight.
I learned how to upload the app that allowed me to also watch movies on the flight. I watched The Joker, a very powerful movie, and then went back to watching “Gracie and Frankie.” What a hoot. In between episodes I walked back and forth through the aisle of the plane.
When we went through customs, they wanted the address of where we were staying. I didn’t have that but I did have the email address of all the Ticos in the various cities in Costa Rica where we were going to stay.
We were met in the airport in Liberia by our hosts. They were all wearing name tags and the people with whom we were each going to stay also had our name tag on them. My host’s name is Velma. Since our flight was late, our last traveler, Ann, arrived shortly after us.
A man took a photo of all of us.
While we were waiting for our ride, Velma took a selfie of the two of us. What a hoot. We were all picked up in a van to go to our homes. We stopped along the road in Liberia and Velma’s husband, Sergio, picked us up to take to their house. Daniel (Sergio’s and Velma’s son) was also in the car. When we arrived at the house I met Sissy, their dog, (perro – I am learning a bit of Spanish. We took my suitcase to my bedroom and.Daniel helped me get all of my devices onto the internet. Yay.
Here are some photos from tonight.

These people are so friendly. It is going to be a wonderful stay.
It is after midnight and I have to get up at 6:30 for 7 am breakfast. Our whole group is going to meet at the church (Iglesia) at 8:30 tomorrow morning. Off to bed for me.
